Thanks, all. Yeah, it was a pretty great night for shooting. I did realize why people pay a lot of money for tri-pods. I got mine pretty cheap, and fiddling with the clips and sliding legs in the dampness was a bit of a pain.
Volvera, thanks for the tip off on the spelling mistake.
Manfrotto 728B is a nice option for a new tripod -about 100 doll hairs- make sure you stick with clips and don't switch to the twisties. Also try to avoid any made out of metal (excruciating to deal with in cold weather) or get one with a foam grip at the top...
Thanks for visiting my blog! Please contact me if you're interested in purchasing a print of any of the photos you see here (more in the archive below) or if you need some photos taken.

I was downtown last night thinking that the fog would make for good photos.
the fog has a nice effect on the lighting. it makes everything glow!
cool photos!
Amazing! When will they be printed and framed on our walls?
I can totally see the peace tower photo winning top prize in an ottawa photo contest.
Nice collection of photos. I wish my camera had a "fog" option
Great shots! I think the second one is my favorite.
